Strategy: Mass Vaccine Locations for Farm WorkersHealth Department, Agency, or Organization: County of San Luis Obispo Public Health DepartmentSize of Jurisdiction: 100,000 – 499,999Description: In the spring of 2021 PH's Farm Worker Outreach Task Force comprised of representatives who serve the farm worker and Latinx community provided input for restructuring our mass COVID vaccine sites to meet the needs of farm workers. One of the key designers of the plans was the director of the SLO County Farm Bureau who assisted in our communications with growers and labor contractors to set aside time for their employees to get vaccinated. Some employers provided transportation and paid their workers for their time at the vaccine sites. With community input we revised the usual protocols regarding required identification and asked vaccinators who usually wore uniforms to dress in civilian clothes to avoid issues arising from concerns regarding immigration status. We also created a welcoming environment with Latino music, food, and the presence of Mixteco and Spanish interpreters to supplement personnel who were not bilingualLinks: N/A
