About the NACCHO Student Section

NACCHO is the only organization dedicated to serving every local health department in the nation. NACCHO serves 3,300+ local health departments and is the leader in providing cutting-edge, skill-building, professional resources and programs, seeking health equity, and supporting effective local public health practice and systems. The mission of the NACCHO Student Program is to provide public health students with resources and a collaborative environment to support and promote best practices for community health while fostering a network for the next generation of local health leaders.

The Section Model for the student program would serve as a platform for Public Health students to connect nationally on a singular committee, working to lead NACCHO student member engagement, outreach, and service within local public health.

With our Student Program we aim to carry out NACCHO’s mission by:

  1. Building a diverse network of students that are passionate about the health & safety of their communities
  2. Engaging students with exceptional opportunities to enhance their Public Health education
  3. Providing a platform for students to broaden their professional network and launch a career in Local Public Health

The Student membership committee will meet monthly to discuss event, activities, advocacy efforts, and other agenda items that reflect the goals of the student membership and NACCHO’s dedication to local public health.
