Hello Local Health IT! Our next Community of Practice meeting is this Thursday, August 22, at 1pm ET. Ahead of the meeting, I wanted to take a minute to introduce you to the speaker this month and give you the opportunity to say hello and ask any questions you might have.

Bob Brooks, MCSE, CCNA, OSCP, CEH, is the Chief Information Technology Officer at Green County Public Health, where he's worked for 10 years. He has more than 27 years of experience working in information technology and 12 years of experience in public health. He will be joining us to discuss his best practices to protect your local health departments.

Some other interesting facts about Bob's career:

    • Worked with the Ohio Department of Health Data Committee on Electronic medical records for Health Departments.
    • Working with the West Central region to consolidate IT support for Health Districts that are smaller and do not have access to resources that they need regards to technology.
    • 27 years working with IT within the Private and Public sectors focusing on Security both physical and logical, pen testing, systems administration, monitoring, and network deployments.
Please feel free to introduce yourselves and ask any questions you might have around cybersecurity. Note: We will also have Roger Grimes, a speaker for LHIT and a data-driven evangelist for KnowBe4, on the call this Thursday. With your questions in advance, we can be sure to address any pressing concerns. We look forward to hearing from everyone!
