  • 1.  NACCHO IPC LLN Call: Essential Skills for Training Facility Staff

    Posted 11-27-2023 04:43 PM

    On Tuesday, December 5, 1pm-2pm ET, NACCHO is hosting their Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Living Learning Network (LLN) December call to feature unique skills to improve local health departments' (LHDs) abilities to train facility partner staff. Essential skills work has been a part of NACCHO's Project Firstline work for over a year and has culminated in both virtual and in-person training events. This presentation will review what essential skills are, highlight some of the content shared in a previous webinar and first in-person training, and share opportunities to engage in future essential skills activities and where to find resources. Local health department staff interested in learning about skills to improve efficacy of IPC training with healthcare facility partners should attend.

    Attendees will:

    • Learn how essential skills complement technical information especially between partners like local health departments and partner healthcare facilities;
    • Employ strategies for establishing a safe and trusting environment to train healthcare worker audiences; and
    • Understand the importance of cultural humility (competency) as it relates to IPC work.

    Registration for the call can be completed here: https://naccho.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZUvcO6hrzMiHNZhPcwA0jKuvAuhtR24U06O.
