Transcript attachedHello, everyone and Happy September! This month for our monthly roundup and recap we're going to spend just a bit of time talking about what took place in August, and giving more of a preview of what's to come in September. So in August you can notice on the virtual Community Discussion board that there is a space where we're talking about um refugee, immigrant and migrant populations, and some of the best practices for translating research and information and the communication tactics to do so. You can review the slides from that workshop and also check out supplemental materials right here within the Discussion Board. Additionally, Tulane's school of public health and tropical medicine is looking to build up its core competencies around anti-racism racial equity, health equity, and would love feedback from local health departments and from groups who know best how to support that work. So your feedback again is welcome. You can check the library and announcement section of this discussion board to do those things.
Again, September is a preview for some very big events taking place, one of which is a two-part series hosted by Richard Hofrichter, he's the former [Senior] Director of Health Equity, and Social Justice at NACCHO, and he'll talk about advancing narratives for racial and health equity. The first session is September 8th, that's a Thursday, from 2:30 to 4:00 PM. The second session, more of a workshop is September 28th, which is a Wednesday from 2:30 to 4:00 PM. For both of those we're asking that you do register it's for free. But please register. There are links right here attached to this video for you to do so. You can also check out the monthly bulletin sent out across the grant recipients to register.
Additionally, in September, there's a two-day event kind of an update and listening session hosted by cdc Get more information from that on the Bulletin as well, and check your emails for some more details about signing up time frames um everything of that nature to make sure you're a part of that listening session. It's going to be very much worth your time.
That's all I have for this month. We're looking forward to another month filled with information and technical assistance, and all that we can do to support you in your efforts to advance health equity. Always, if you have questions, please contact me. We look forward to seeing you next month. Bye bye.
