Informatics Champions CoP June 18, 2026 Meeting Notes

The third quarterly NACCHO Informatics Champions Meeting was held on Thursday, June 18, 2026. The meeting focused on AI use in Public Health highlighting the various considerations and impacts it has on workforce, environment, equity and governance.
The meeting featured a breakout discussion allowing participants to share:  
  • How staff are currently using AI tools 
  • Workforce impacts and skill development
  • Trust, misinformation, and responsible use
  • Ethical, equity, and environmental considerations
  • Needs for AI policies and guidance
Following the discussion, we had participants reporting any key insights and takeaways from their discussions. We closed the session with final announcements and evaluations for the project year.
