The Association of State and Territorial Health Officials featured James Lewis, health officer for the Snohomish County Health Department, on a recent episode of Public Health Review Morning Edition. He discussed how timely access to electronic health records can transform public health response during healthcare-associated infection outbreaks, a topic he has also promoted in his work with the Council for Outbreak Response: Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAIs) and Antimicrobial-Resistant Pathogens (AR) (CORHA). CORHA works to strengthen practices and policies at the local, state, and national levels for detecting, investigating, controlling, and preventing HAI/AR outbreaks across the healthcare continuum.
About CORHA
Since 2015, CORHA has brought together a multidisciplinary network of national associations and federal agencies. NACCHO is a founding member and serves on CORHA's governance committee. CORHA has a suite of resources, including condition- or event-specific reference tools, such as thresholds for reporting, tools for investigation, and suggestions for standardized control measures.
