Hi all – NACCHO Government Affairs is looking forward to our Virtual Hill Week, which will be March 6-10. During this event, NACCHO members will meet virtually with their members of Congress and staff to describe the important work done by local public health and how Congress can support their mission to keep their communities safe and healthy. We would like to invite all NACCHO workgroup members to join. Would you please share the below invitation with your workgroups? There will also be an invitation and sign up coming around soon to NACCHO staff asking for volunteers to join us at the in-person (March 1) and virtual event, so please be on the lookout for that. Thank you for your support!!
Join NACCHO's Virtual Hill Week to Support Local Public Health on the Hill, March 6-10
Local health department leaders across the country are invited to join NACCHO for our Virtual Hill Week, March 6-10. During Virtual Hill Week, NACCHO members will meet via Zoom with members of Congress and their staff to educate them on the important work they do in their communities, discuss challenges faced by local public health, and highlight ways Congress can support their mission to keep their communities safe and healthy. Last year's Virtual Hill Week was a success, but we can't do it without you! Your voice is important to the national discussion around public health and members of Congress want to hear from you!
NACCHO will support you through this process. We will schedule meetings based on your availability, provide issue background and suggested key points, and hold a pre-event webinar to train you on what to expect during your meetings. This event is free, but space is limited. To sign up, please register here by Friday, February 10. Please contact Kerry Allen, Director of Government Affairs at kallen@naccho.org with any questions, and we hope to see you in March!
