  • 1.  Public Health Cybersecurity Readiness Survey

    Posted 10-29-2024 02:30 PM

The Healthcare and Public Health Sector Coordinating Council Joint Cybersecurity Working Group has initiated the Public Health Cybersecurity Readiness Survey, an important effort aimed at improving the cybersecurity preparedness of state, local, tribal, and territorial (SLTT) public health agencies. In light of the increasing cyber threats faced by the sector, this voluntary survey presents a vital opportunity to evaluate current readiness levels and pinpoint areas that require enhancement.

Participants can expect the anonymous survey to take about 15 minutes to complete, and it will be available until Monday, December 2, 2024. The perspectives of public health officials and their IT leaders are essential for gauging readiness and identifying potential improvements. The results will guide recommendations for federal grant funding and influence key policies within public health sectors.

Call to Action: We encourage you to disseminate this opportunity within your networks in the public health field. High levels of participation are crucial for gathering the data needed to inform recommendations for investments and policy adjustments aimed at bolstering cybersecurity in public health. We appreciate your dedication to this vital initiative and your role in enhancing our cybersecurity framework! The survey can be accessed here.

Thanks to the Public Health Task Group Co-Leads - Leanne Field of The UT Austin (and HSCC Cybersecurity Working Group Executive Committee member), and Bob Bastani of HHS ASPR, for their tireless work in the task group interviewing numerous public health officials who helped inform the scope and content of the survey.

We will share the results of the survey when they compiled and analyzed.
