Hello LHIT, I have a few big updates for you all this week. Also what's new at your health department? Is there anything you want to discuss with the group?
- I wanted to send a big thank you to @Blake Scott for posting updates from the HSCC Cybersecurity Working Group, including more information on the public health cybersecurity readiness survey, and @Heidi Satter for posting the ASTHO AI webinar.
- I added our next meeting on the calendar for Friday, December 6, which is one month away.
- Other updates are that we were invited to attend a CDC focus group on Health Data, Standards and Technology (OPHDST) on November 15 from 2-3pm. Here's more information, please let me know if you want to attend and I'll forward the invite:
- Hi All, our partners at CDC's Office of Public Health Data, Standards and Technology (OPHDST) would like to invite you to a focus group/interactive group activity session. In preparation for the focus group we wanted to share some information in advance to set the stage and make the best use of time. We will be doing an interactive group activity validating how jurisdictions are engaging with the Public Health Data Strategy (PHDS). We ask that you take 5-10 minutes to review the CDC's PHDS website prior to next week's meeting (see link below). The Public Health Data Strategy

- Below is some PHDS background for your reference:
-
- First released in 2023 that outlines the data, technology, policy and administrative actions needed to exchange critical core data efficiently and securely across health care and public health.
- Four main goals:
- Strengthen the core of public health data
- Accelerate access to analytic and automated solutions to support public health investigations and advance health equity
- Visualize and share actionable insights to inform public health action
- Advance more open and interoperable public health data
Thank you and we look forward to connecting with everyone next week!
