Our QIN-QIO from Alliant Health shared with me these very cool HAI surveillance resources that LTCFs can use. Not sure if other jurisdictions have similar tools from their QIN-QIOs. Not sure if anyone can speak to how LTCFs in their jurisdiction conduct surveillance on IPC and for QI purposes.
The recording and slides can be found here Boosting IP Basics: Importance of Infection Prevention & Control Strategies for COVID-19 Outbreaks | 2.2.23 - NQIIC (allianthealth.org)
The surveillance tool can be downloaded here AHS HAI Surveillance & Dashboard Tool - NQIIC (allianthealth.org)

Subject: HAI/AR Surveillance Methods
Hello everyone!
I am interested in identifying best practices for HAI surveillance. What are some existing data sources available? What are some ways that you have shared HAI/AR data with facilities? In my jurisdiction, we have very little visibility on HAI/AR disease burden within our LTCFs since they are not required by CMS to submit this data into NHSN aside from COVID-19. The lack of a standardized way of compiling this type of data has made it challenging to try to assist our LTCFs understand the public health significance of MDROs and antimicrobial stewardship. Simply put, I dont have local data to show them. Was wondering if anyone has any experience dealing with this and has some insights that they would be willing to share.
