As we prepare for the January 20 Cardio CoP call, we'd love to start the conversation early around the connection between hypertension and brain health.
High blood pressure is a well-established risk factor for cardiovascular disease, and growing evidence shows it also plays a key role in cognitive decline and Alzheimer's disease. For many health departments, hypertension prevention and control efforts may already be underway, even if they aren't explicitly framed as brain health or dementia risk reduction.
Ahead of the call, we're curious:
- Is brain health or healthy aging part of your hypertension-related work?
- What opportunities do you see to better connect cardiovascular and brain health strategies?
- What tools, partnerships, or resources would help advance this work locally?
We'll continue this conversation during the January 20, 1:00 PM ET CoP call, featuring speakers from the Alzheimer's Association, who will share risk reduction strategies and tools for public health practice.
Looking forward to learning from your experiences and ideas.
