  • 1.  3 Things: NACCHO 360, CISA PH Threat Webinar, LHDs Using TechSoup

    Hi all, I have three quick things I wanted to run by you all: 

    1. PHI*con and NACCHO 360 are kicking off the week of July 22 -- Let me know if you're planning to be there and want to meet up with the group!
    2. CISA is hosting a live webinar on July 17 about cyber threats and resources for public health and healthcare.
    3. @Charlie Bryan is working to secure services with TechSoup. Is anyone here using TechSoup's services?
      1. He wrote the following:
        Do you know of any local health departments that are signed up with TechSoup? They are accustomed to working with nonprofits with 501(c)(3) designation. As a government entity, we do not have a 501(c)(3) designation, so I'm trying to make the case that charitable contributions to governmental units are tax-deductible under section 170(c)(1) of the Internal Revenue Code if made for a public purpose. As such, I believe we satisfy the eligibility requirements to receive TechSoup services. I'm wondering if it would help if I could also point them to another local health department that's receiving TechSoup services. Any chance you might know about any?

    Finally, is anything new going on at your local health department that we should be aware of? Let me know by replying to this thread. I hope you all are doing well -- an invite to the next LHIT meeting is coming soon.

    I'm excited to see you too, Dave! Regarding registering for the webinar, you can click on this link, which will take you straight to a LinkedIn Live platform. From there, you can click on the "Attend" button under the video on the left-hand side. It looks like that should give you access to the conversations from the event. I'll see if I can make it to the webinar as well. 

    Also, do you happen to know of anybody using TechSoup? Good to hear from you.
