  • HHS Mpox Briefing for Providers Who Care for Pediatric Populations

Please join HHS leaders for an informational briefing on mpox clade I for providers who care for children and adolescents on Friday, September 13, 2024 at 3:00pm ET.  As you may know, the World Health Organization declared mpox a Public Health Emergency of International Concern on August 14, 2024 because of the emergence of Clade Ib in Africa.  While there has not been a case of Clade I (a or b) identified in the U.S., HHS wants to share information with providers who care for pediatric populations on the epidemiology of Clade I in children and adolescents ahead of any pediatric cases stateside.
We will be joined by Assistant Secretary for Health, ADM Rachel Levine, MD, as well as staff from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)’s mpox response and the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA).  You can register and submit questions in advance for Friday’s briefing using this link.  There should be time during the briefing for additional questions.  Please feel free to share the registration link with others in your networks who may be interested in this topic.
