Breast-feeding Attrition Prediction Tool (BAPT) was originally created in 1994 and used 94 questions to better determine mothers postpartum at risk of early cessation of breastfeeding. It has since been revised and now is most widely used and accepted as a 27 question item across three domains; knowledge, social support and confidence. It is now available for use in English and Spanish and can help programs better understand how to create more equitable breastfeeding support within their communities. Vermont published information pertaining to their use at https://wicworks.fns.usda.gov/wicworks/Sharing_Center/VT/BFSPG/VT_WIC-SPG_Final-Report.pdf while others are currently conducting further work in New York and California.
