Dr. Gridley-Smith received her doctorate in Biomedical Sciences with a focus on biodefense and emerging infectious diseases from the University of Albany, State University of New York, School of Public Health. Her doctoral research was based out of the Wadsworth center and the New York State Department of Health. Her passion lies in protecting and empowering others to protect themselves from both natural and man-made threats. With a strong background in fundamental laboratory research of viruses and human cancers, coupled with a penchant for advocacy and communication, she combine her skills, talents, and passions as a senior program analyst at NACCHO. At NACCHO, she coordinates and leads the Global Climate Change workgroup, and serves as lead staff on a Zika preparedness project assessing the current status of vector surveillance and control activities in the United States.
